Our Fleet
All of our vehicles are maintained to exacting standards in our on-site workshops, by our first-class maintenance team who provide 24-hour support to keep our fleet on the road. Each vehicle is satellite tracked and has vehicle-to-depot communications equipment to enable us to respond effectively and efficiently to our customer's demands. Additionally, front-facing cameras record all driving activity for the protection of our drivers and other road users.
R G Bassett & Sons Ltd operates a modern fleet of LGV vehicles and curtain-sided trailers:
• Artics (44 tonnes gross) for full and part-load deliveries
• Rigids (7.5–26 tonnes gross) with tail lifts for deliveries with restricted access
• Curtain-sided trailers including standard height, high cube, tail lift and Moffett FLT equipped
We regularly review our fleet size and dynamics to meet changing customer requirements and our general replacement policy allows for the introduction of new distance vehicles on a 5-year rotational cycle. Our operator's licence allows us to operate 94 vehicles and 150 trailers giving us added capacity to respond to the needs of our customers on an ongoing basis.
We have recently introduced a new vehicle livery to our fleet which we plan to roll-out progressively on all newly acquired vehicles going forward. Our original livery has certainly stood the test of time and we hope that our new modernised version will create a foundation for the future of the brand.
